After a walk in the park we got back and between me and the boy we decided to make a life sized snow cat "to freak out the real cats" (there are lots of cats in our cul de sac)
The bunny ears are entirely my fault.
BTW that's my East German army hat and my Leeds Utd scarf he's wearing.
Once back in the warm I did a bit of work on a dress for the shop. In an unprecedented move by me here's a sneak preview
The pink threads are to gather it up for traditional smocking (I'm not really going to give up smocking - it's a bastardised line from Airplane, RIP Leslie Neilson). I spent about 2 hours just doing the gathering threads, I wanted to stop but I had used one of these
I ♥ air erasable pens - they make marking so easy (as long as you check on a scrap first to make sure it really erases). On a heavy textured fabric they struggle to fade and you might have to give it a squirt of water to get rid of it, but on a smooth sheer fabric (the green is a very light cotton/silk mix over an ivory sandwashed silk) the problem is it fades too soon, the first marks were disappearing as I made the last ones. so it all had to get done tonight! But it's done now and I can get on with the fun part of the smocking. Once that is done I will finish the neck and armholes with bias tape, and do the bubble hem it's going to have. It's really lovely fabric and finished with French seams, I'm very proud of it so far! Hopefully it will be in the shop by Monday, it depends on when I can take a photo
